Blacked out look today to protest the internet censorship bills. This is not about piracy. The film and music industries would like to squeeze every last penny out of consumers but this is more about controlling what we see and what we can say. I’m perfectly happy deciding that for myself! The Arab spring and Occupy movements have certainly raised a few eyebrows around the world. Freedom of speech is really just an expression. Very few can speak freely without serious consequences. The internet is one of the last bastions of freedom. There is a small but very powerful minority that would like to change that. It’s up to everyone to make sure they don’t succeed.
